Shane, owner of Wrigley’s, delivered incredible service, knowledge and care while assisting with a home I was selling. He responded promptly to inquiries. Was available at some of the oddest “hours” and did everything he promised. I have referred them to several clients and highly recommend them to anyone.
Great company been with Wrigley's for about 2 yrs ,no complaints 👌
I recently switched over to Wrigley pool service and couldn’t be happier! I actually started to call and bug Shane (the owner) before I even hired him and he always responded and in a timely manner! For the longest time, I kept saying “I’m gonna switch over” but I always got busy or forgot. The fact he wasn’t making a dime off of me but always took the time to help me, told me everything I needed to know about his character. It’s abundantly clear that he cares about his clients. I recommend him to all of my clients with pools!Funny story, he knows this area so well that there were times I call and ask for help with one of my listings (I’m a Realtor) and he’d recognize the address and would already know what the pool needed. Hands down, he’s the best!
Response from the owner: Thank you Mike. We really appreciate the kind words. We are always here to help you in anyway possible
Great service and great value. The workers are prompt and always get the job done. Also very responsive which is a plus in times of need.
Response from the owner: Thank you Tyler. Always here to help you with any needs
Shane and the team were very good from quote to install l. I would recommend them to anyone for pool equipment repairs.
Response from the owner: Thank you so much Gearoid! Anytime you need help, we are here to help!
We just had our pool redone. Wrigley's was instrumental in helping us get ready to open. As a new manager, I was unfamiliar with this process. They answered all 1000 questions, happily. Luis and Zach are amazing techs and explained everything as we navigated this process. A big shout out to Debbie and Shane in the office for fielding all of my questions. Without a doubt, Wrigley's customer service is outstanding and their pool service is top notch. Thank you Wrigley's
Response from the owner: Thank you so much!!
Effective and clear communication, and best price for gas pool heater instalation. Installers were very professional, polite, knowledgeable and friendly.
Talked to the owner of the company last week. He is honest, straight forward, easy communicate with, and the price is reasonable. Looking forward to working with the company
Responding to this newest comment, I was not satisfied with your company’s service. My husband was not dealing with this company a year ago, so he was not aware of how poor the experience with your company was. Your employees would come to service my pool & I would check the skimmers after your employees left and they would still be full with leaves after they “serviced” it. We have had this pool since 2009, Aloha pools and we never had issues. Our pool was in great condition until we started dealing with your company. We are still struggling with our pool due to dealing with this company. This is my experience with this company & I stand by that.
Response from the owner: This is completely untrue. We never did any service for you after you called for your pool needing Vacuuming. I told your husband we are two weeks out. He understood and said that would not work with his schedule unfortunately. Never did we talk with you….You listed quality of work as a reason. We serviced your pool for over a year. You wanted to service yourself so we stopped service. Then we get a call from your husband this week needing help. Once again we did not service pool because our time frame could not align. We even told Gabe your husband that we would put him in the first slot available if any cancellations came up.So how can this be quality of work when you wanted to hire us back? Our goal is to provide the best customer service possible. We will help anybody with their needs. But this is completely falseWe wish you the best moving forwardWe service both your neighbors and one other on your street for 3 years. All those pools are always spotless and clean. Your pool is green because you never wanted to keep your pump on then you would blame the technician. Even today your pool is a swamp like it was when we took it over. Then you would never unlock the gate or answer door because you were still sleeping at noon. False information you are posting which I have all documented and is being reviewed currently and which shows how your pool looked prior, during and after.
Love this company! Friendly staff and always does a great job!

POOL SAND CHANGES IN TRACY

Why Changing the Sand in Your Pool’s Sand Filter is Essential

Changing the sand in your pool’s sand filter is a key part of maintaining a clean and healthy swimming environment. Over time, sand in the filter accumulates debris, oils, and other materials, which can reduce the filter’s effectiveness. Understanding when and how to change the sand can help keep your pool water clear and your filtration system running smoothly.

What is Pool Sand and Why Should It Be Changed?

Pool sand is a specially designed type of sand used in the filtration process for swimming pools. Made from silica, a natural substance found in quartz, the sand particles are precisely sized to capture debris and impurities in the water as it passes through the filter. However, over time, the sand in the filter becomes clogged with debris and oils, and the sharp edges of the grains wear down, causing them to lose their ability to trap particles effectively.

Typically, pool sand should be replaced every 5 to 7 years, depending on pool usage and maintenance. If not changed regularly, the filter’s performance decreases, leading to cloudy water and increased use of pool chemicals.

Preparing for the Sand Change

Before changing the sand, gather all the necessary materials: new pool-grade silica sand, a large container to dispose of the old sand, a garden hose, and protective gloves and goggles. It’s important to use the correct type of sand—#20 silica sand, which is the most commonly used and provides the ideal grain size for filtration.

How to Change Pool Sand: A Step-by-Step Guide

Turn Off the Pool Pump
Start by turning off the pool pump for safety to avoid any electrical hazards.

Remove the Filter Lid
Next, remove the filter lid, which may involve unscrewing bolts or unclasping latches, depending on your filter model.

Drain Water from the Filter
Once the lid is off, drain the water from the filter using the drain plug to make it easier to access the sand.

Remove Old Sand
Carefully remove the old sand using a small scoop or cup. Be cautious not to damage the filter’s laterals, which are the parts at the bottom of the filter. This step can be a bit labor-intensive, as the sand will likely be wet and heavy.

Inspect and Clean the Filter
After removing the old sand, inspect the filter for any signs of damage, particularly the laterals, and clean the inside of the filter tank using a garden hose.

Add New Sand
Once the filter is clean, it’s time to add the new sand. Pour the new pool-grade silica sand carefully into the filter, ensuring you do not damage the laterals. Fill the filter to the manufacturer’s recommended level, which is usually about halfway up the tank.

Reassemble and Restart the Filter
Reassemble the filter by putting the lid back on and securing it tightly. Turn the pump back on, and it’s a good idea to backwash the filter after adding new sand to help settle it properly.

Monitor Filter Performance
Keep an eye on the filter’s pressure gauge to ensure the filter is operating within the recommended pressure range.

Best Practices and When to Seek Professional Help

When changing the sand, avoid overfilling the filter, as this can strain the system. It’s also important to always use the correct sand type to prevent damage to the filter. Handle the laterals carefully to avoid breaking these delicate parts. If you’re uncertain about the process or encounter issues such as damaged laterals, it’s a good idea to seek professional help.

Disposing of Old Sand

If you’re wondering what to do with the old sand, it can often be repurposed for landscaping or other non-toxic uses. If you choose to dispose of it, make sure to follow local waste disposal guidelines to ensure proper handling.

The Benefits of Regular Sand Changes

Regularly changing the sand in your pool filter ensures that your pool remains efficiently filtered, and it helps extend the lifespan of your pool equipment. By maintaining your sand filter, you reduce the need for excess chemicals and create a healthier swimming environment for everyone.

Conclusion

While changing the sand in your pool filter may seem like a labor-intensive task, it is essential for maintaining clear water and an efficient filtration system. By following the steps outlined above, you can ensure your pool stays in excellent condition and remains an enjoyable place to swim. Regular maintenance, including timely sand changes, protects your investment in both your pool and its equipment, ensuring a clean and inviting pool for years to come.
